What is Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy? (EAP)

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) brings horses into the therapeutic process in a unique, experiential way. Rather than simply talking about challenges, participants have an opportunity to explore them through activities and interactions with horses.
At Liberty Reins, our EAP work is ground-based—there is no riding—and no horse experience is necessary.
Come See What It's All About
If you've wondered what equine-assisted psychotherapy actually looks like, this free demo is an opportunity to experience the process firsthand.
During the evening, we'll introduce you to the Eagala model, explain the role of the horse and treatment team, and invite participants to experience a sample activity similar to what might happen during an EAP session.
You don't need to know anything about horses—or therapy—to participate.
THE 4-1-1
Conducted in partnership with Living Tree Wellness Center, all sessions include a licensed mental health professional, an equine specialist, and at least one horse.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This event is open to anyone curious about equine-assisted psychotherapy, including individuals and families interested in services, mental health professionals, educators, healthcare providers, community partners, or anyone who simply wants to learn more.
MEET OUR TEAM

EQUINE PARTNERS
OUR HORSES
Our herd members are a vital part of our team in every session. Their barn identities are not shared as we want to allow each horse to become whatever character they might represent in a client's story.
