Trail Ride Options

General Information

Trail rides are a great way to test your riding skills as well as your understanding of how horses work and think. Getting out of the arena brings new challenges and experiences that often help direct what we work on in the arena while solidifying the need for the skills we practice in a more controlled environment.

While our horses are safe for beginner riders, they are not the kind of horses you ride when you go on vacation trail rides and ride in a line with one following another. Due to the fact that our horses do not blindly follow each other on the trail, a certain level of experience is needed to maintain safety on the trail. If you are not a current or former lesson client, you will be asked to schedule an evaluation session before booking a trail ride. Evaluation sessions help us assess which horse would be the best fit for you and your skill level as a rider. Safety is our top priority and out on the trail is not the place to find gaps in your riding ability.

Weekend Trail Rides

Cost  is $125 for a 1.5 hour ride and $150 for a 2-hour ride. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot and is due at time of booking.

Every year Liberty Reins takes members of the herd and horse camps with them. We have a great time and offer scheduled trail rides to our clients that are less expensive than booking a private trail ride. These trips are typically scheduled in the summer months as weather and schedules allow. Dates are below with ride time options listed. If no dates are listed, that means there are currently no upcoming dates available. All reservations must be made by filling out the form below so get in touch soon! Spots typically fill quickly. You can reach Ali at (708) 567-6497 with any questions.

Willamette Mission

Willamtte Mission is a great place for riders of all levels. We suggest this one especially for beginners as the trails are nice and wide and the terrain is flat. These rides include a mix of riding in open space and in trees. One of the highlights of these rides is where the horses can get into the water (not swimming, just wading). Max number of riders in each group is 4; rides are approximately 1.5 hours.
